The best part of being in public relations is to get to meet amazing-talented people. Although it might seem hard to find true friends in this chaotic industry, once you meet those people you click with, you never let them go. This shoot was a couple of weeks ago with my amazing-talented friends I was talking about. Thanks to Patty Castañeda, blogger of Golden Sparks, for being my tutorial model of the month as well as the fabulous photographer Natalia Feliú for capturing these moments!

La mejor parte de estar en relaciones públicas es la gente tan increíblemente talentosa que llegas a conocer. Aunque parece difícil encontrar amigos verdaderos en esta industria caótica, una vez que conoces a las personas con las que haces click, jamas las dejas ir. Estas fotos fueron tomadas hace algunas semanas con mis increíblemente talentosas amigas de las que hablaba hace rato. Gotta Keep Your Head Up

Finally I could get my hands on these incredible photographs that, my friend and professional photographer, Pepe Almazán took of me when I was living in New York City. 

By seeing how amazing this photos turned out to be, not only gave me a smile on my face but it brought a tear - lot of mixed emotions! It is funny how in less than a year a lot of things can happen, things you never thought of and how different yet mature you can turn out to be. 

I am blessed and humble by all the opportunities that life has brought me and all the lessons I have learned throughout this year. I am even more grateful to all the people that has stood by my side during good and bad times and all the incredible new people I met during my journey that I now call friends. 

I look at these photos and hold on to those happy memories I lived and I feel proud of all the things I have accomplished and yet the ones I'm still aiming. 

Like my photos, I stand head-up-high just going forward… and of course, with a fabulous look!

Al fin pude poner mis manos en estas increíbles fotografías que mi amigo y fotógrafo profesional Pepe Almazán me tomó cuando vivía en Nueva York. 

Al ver lo hermosas que salieron estas fotos, no solo me trajo una sonrisa al rostro si no también una lágrima - muchas emociones encontradas! Es chistoso como en menos de un año pueden pasar tantas cosas, cosas que nunca pensaste que pasarían y el como resultaste convertirte en alguien diferente y maduro. 

Me siento bendecida y humilde por todas las oportunidades que la vida me ha dado y por todas las lecciones que he aprendido durante el año. Me siento aun más agradecida con toda la gente que estuvo a mi lado durante los buenos y malos momentos, y a todas esas personas tan maravillosas que conocí durante el camino y que ahora llamo mis amigos. 

Veo estas fotos y abrazo todas esas memorias felices que viví - me siento orgullosa de todas las cosas que he logrado y las que aun me faltan por lograr. 

Así como mis fotos, avanzo con la frente en alto.. y por supuesto con un buen look!

Formal Wear Twist

Formal wear doesn't always mean wearing a dress… right? 

It is funny how people freak out when they read the word "formal" on the etiquette section of their invitation. I actually love the word because to me, it means making it interesting and presentable for the occasion. Why wear a dress every time you see the word FORMAL? Let's be honest ladies, we take a tremendous amount of time to find the perfect little dress to wear it once… for 2 or 3 hours… and then that's it. After the very expected event we will just hide it behind our closet, isn't that a waste of time and money? I have been there but I must say I have learned how to buy pieces I can mix and match for any type of occasion. I always take Olivia Palermo as an example!

I believe it also depends on the culture - we as mexicans like to take everything over the top and although it is fun to dress extremely nice for cocktails or weddings, you can also learn how to play with accessories and transform something casual into formal. 

Of course I wouldn't wear this look for a wedding but a formal dinner will work absolutely just fine.

Vestirte formal no siempre significa tener que usar un vestido… cierto?

Es chistoso como la gente se asusta cuando ve la palabra "formal" en la sección de etiqueta de una invitación. En lo personal, me encanta porque para mí significa hacerte ver interesante y presentable para la ocasión. Porqué usar un vestido cada vez que ves la palabra FORMAL? Seamos honestas niñas, nos tomamos una cantidad de tiempo impresionante para escoger el vestido perfecto para usarlo una sola vez… por 2 o 3 horas… y ya. Después del tan esperado evento el vestido se va a esconder atrás del closet - apoco no es un desperdicio de tiempo y dinero? Yo he estado en esa situación pero debo decir que he aprendido a comprar piezas que puedo combinar para cualquier tipo de ocasión. Siempre tomo a Olivia Palermo como el mejor ejemplo!

Yo creo que también depende de la cultura - nosotros los mexicanos siempre nos encanta irnos al extremo, y aunque es divertido vestir súper extravagante para cocteles o bodas, también puedes aprender a jugar con los accesorios y transformar algo casual en formal. 

Obvio no usaría este look para una boda pero para una cena formal trabajaría totalmente bien.

Crop It Up

For a nice walk in the park is always good to wear something comfortable and in this case, light weight - oh summer time hot-madness! I spent this weekend with my cousin in Alerces Park here in Mexico City and what-a-weekend we chose to spend outside with the heat above our head. 

For that I decided to step out of my comfort zone and wear my typical black and white midi skirt with this Nastygal black crop top I haven't worn in forever! Yes I might not have the best abs but I love myself as I am and I love playing more with my clothes - adding pink sandals to a kinda-formal outfit was a challenge and not so convincing but hey! I needed some color and nothing better than nice summer sandals to wear for a walk in the park so why not! I was like my personal touch.

Always dare to play your game different, never settle with common.

Para una caminata en el parque siempre es bueno usar algo cómodo y en este caso, ligero - Oh la locura del calor de verano! Este fin de semana me la pasé con mi prima en Parque Alerces aquí en México y que buen fin escogimos para estar afuera con el calorón en nuestra cabeza.

Por esta razón, decidí salir de mi zona de confort y usar mi clásica falda blanco con negro pero con este top de Nastygal negro que no me había puesto desde hace mucho! Así es, tal ves no tenga los mejores abs pero me quiero a mi misma y me encanta aún mas jugar con mi ropa - agregar sandalias rosas a un outfit semi-formal fue un reto y tal ves no tan convincente pero necesitaba agregar algo de color y que mejor que unas sandalias lindas de verano para ir al parque! Fue como agregarle mi toque personal.

Siempre atrévete a jugar tu juego diferente, nunca te conformes con lo común.
