After spending another summer away from home I realized how much I still have to learn and to live. Like everything in life there were ups and downs but the experience working, and the people I met, are the priceless rewards that made everything worth it. Now that I'm back and ready to start my last semester in college it's time to keep up the hard work and find street style inspiration at home. 

Today's outfit is for the CollegeFashionista + American Eagle contest (VOTE HERE). My favorite piece of denim has to be my oversized denim shirt but since it wasn't enough I also added my mini denim shorts. I love loose clothes and the way I can mix them with sophisticated pieces like this blazer, making the look more presentable. I might have brought back a little taste of urban style from New York, so stay tuned for more Street Styler wardrobe mixes.

Street Beat - Lorde

As if this 16-year-old wasn't garnering enough attention already, today's Street Beat features Ella Yelich-O'Connor otherwise known as Lorde. Coming from New Zealand, this artist released her first EP, The Love Club EP, last March. Only five months later, she is already on top of the charts with her single, Royals. 

With a whole career ahead of her, we are excited to see and hear what else Lorde will bring. Being signed on to Universal since age 12, we know this girl possesses a whole lot of talent. Street Beat - HAIM

Today we're introducing a new section titled "Street Beat". Every Monday you'll be able to listen or learn about a new artist or song that we love, and that eventually you'll love too! This week we're spotlighting the sister band, HAIM.

Composed of three sisters stemming from Los Angeles, California, HAIM has been covering every major music festival this year. Este, Danielle and Alana Haim started playing in 2005 and are set to debut their first album "Days are Gone" this year. 

I saw this sister act earlier this summer at Governor's Ball in NYC and there wasn't a song I didn't find myself bobbing my head to. One of my favorite singles is "Falling" which they played at SXSW earlier this year. Their music has been described as "nu-folks-meets-nineties-R&B," to me, it is easy listening with a catchy beat. 

Today, the sister act debuted their new music video for their single, The Wire, which will be included in their upcoming album. Listen to it below and tell us what you think.

Central Park

Whole Outfit: H&M / Sunnies: Lookmatic

While I enjoy the fresh New York City weather I also try to enjoy the beautiful sights. Even the most simple place can become your inspirational spot and the perfect scenario for a blog post.

I believe Central Park is my favorite place to be. Friends and families having picnics, people walking their dogs and running around, couples walking with their ice-cream cones, and Fashionistas like myself looking for some time to relax. 

This time I decided to wear high-waisted harem pants, a simple white t-shirt, a nude leather vest, the must-have nude pumps, a snake print clutch bag and Lookmatic sunglasses for an edgy touch. This outfit has a kind of urban vibe and even though it is simple, you can always make it more interesting by adding a fun accessory. A pop of color or an eclectic print can always change the whole outfit up.
